Dr. Kurt Erickson, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Erickson was born and raised in Orlando, Florida. He received his BA degree in chemistry and Political Science from the University of Miami. He completed medical school at the University of South Florida. Surgical residency was completed at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina.

Dr. Erickson is a diplomat of the American Board of Surgery. He is an associate member of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the Southeastern Surgical Congress and the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons.

Dr. Erickson’s interests include all aspects of general surgery, but especially laparoscopy and benign / malignant disease of the colon and breast.

Dr. Richard Rodriguez, D.O., M.P.H., F.A.C.O.S.

Dr. Rodriguez was born and raised in Miami, Florida. He received his bachelor’s degree and Masters in Public Health from the University of Miami. He earned his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He served his internship and residency in general surgery at Sun Coast Hospital/NOVA Southeastern University.

Dr. Rodriguez is a diplomate of the American Board of Osteopathic Surgery and a fellow of both the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and the American Association of Osteopathic Examiners. He is a member of the Florida Board of Osteopathic Medicine, the American Osteopathic Association, the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association, the Florida Surgical Society, and the Pinellas County Osteopathic Medical Society.

He is currently a clinical assistant professor of surgery at NOVA Southeastern University. Dr. Rodriguez is the Medical Director of the Morton Plant Hospital Comprehensive Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine Center.

Dr. Tirone was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, where he received his undergraduate degree at The Johns Hopkins University in 1992. He received his medical degree from Tulane University in New Orleans in 1996. He completed his surgical residency in 2003 at The Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

During his residency, Dr. Tirone spent two years participating in NIH sponsored research under the direction of Dr. F. Charles Brunicardi in the areas of pancreatic cancer and insulin regulation.

Dr. Tirone is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society. He is also a member of the Society of Breast Surgeons, the Society of the Alimentary Tract, and The Michael E. DeBakey Society.

Dr. Tirone performs a full range of general surgery with interests in breast and advanced minimally invasive procedures.

Dr. Valerie Stewart, D.O., F.A.C.O.S.

Dr. Stewart was born and raised in Clearwater, Florida. She received her bachelor’s degree in Health Science Education with a specialization in Community Health. She earned her medical degree from Nova Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine.

She served her internship and residency in general surgery at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in New York.

Dr. Stewart is a member of the Pinellas County Osteopathic Medical Society and the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association.

Dr. Stewart performs a full range of general and advanced minimally invasive surgery procedures.

Dr. Priscilla Thomas, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Priscilla Thomas hails from the Midwest, obtaining her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Missouri - Kansas City. She began her surgical training in Kansas City and went on to complete residency in North Dakota, after devoting a year to pediatric surgery research. Following residency in 2015, she completed a Mastery in General Surgery program in Georgia. Dr. Thomas then joined a well-respected multi-disciplinary private practice group in Savannah, Georgia. For the next 5 years, she worked as a general surgeon in Savannah and surrounding cities in the southeast Georgia region. During that time, she developed a Mastery in General Surgery Program and served as the program Chief for 4 years. She recently relocated to the sunshine state and plans to contribute to the growth of Clearwater Surgical Associates.

Dr. Thomas is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She is a member of the Florida Chapter of the ACS and regularly serves as an ATLS course director and instructor. She enjoys all facets of general surgery including the use of minimally invasive techniques, such as robotic surgery and laparoscopy. She also performs both upper and lower endoscopy. Dr. Thomas operates in Morton Plant Hospital, Bardmoor Surgicenter, and Belleair Surgicenter. Her clinical hours are split between offices in both Bardmoor and Clearwater. She is currently accepting new patients and is excited to serve this community.

Outside of work, Dr. Thomas enjoys exploring different cities with her dog and significant other. She also enjoys outreach and hopes to continue her involvement with surgical mission trips to Guatemala. She looks forward to meeting you and participating in your care.
